At a glance
GOLDNBEAR SECURITY provides event security in Pasadena for Rose Bowl games, concerts and flea market days, Rose Parade season on Colorado Boulevard, Old Pasadena and Playhouse nights, corporate and Caltech-area events, and private estate parties. Veteran-owned, operating since 2004, PPO-licensed by California BSIS since 2018 (PPO 120234), bonded and insured. Officers often work in plain clothes, so security protects the night without becoming the trigger. Free quotes, 24/7.
In Pasadena, the calendar is the risk. A Rose Bowl weekend, a New Year's parade week, a busy Saturday in Old Pasadena, and a private party in a Craftsman home are four different jobs. The person most likely to ruin the night isn't always the one shouting. It's the one who slips past a soft gate, stays too long at the door, or turns a small argument into a scene in front of guests.
GOLDNBEAR SECURITY is a veteran-owned private security company. We've been operating since 2004 and have been PPO-licensed by the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services since 2018 (PPO 120234). Our headquarters is at 811 W 7th St in Downtown Los Angeles, with offices in Panorama City and Santa Monica. We're bonded and insured. We are human intelligence. Prevention-first protection that starts with reading people, not intimidation.
Remove the trigger
Most Pasadena guard pages sell uniforms and crowd control. Here is what we mean by prevention:
- Officers who fit the room. They can dress as staff, crew, or guests. A wall of uniforms tells everyone something is about to go wrong, and that becomes the trigger. We remove it.
- Talk first, early. When a guest gets loud, a gate-crasher pushes in, or someone won't leave a bar door, our officers step in before it becomes a fight. Our team includes officers with hostage-negotiation training, so calming a person down is a core skill.
- The reason behind every rule. We tell guests and staff why a door is closed, why a bag is checked, or why a phone stays pocketed. People follow a rule they understand.
We treat security as customer service. The best event is the one where nobody noticed us.
Pasadena events we cover
- Rose Bowl games, concerts, and flea market days. Entrances, lots, beer gardens, and the mix of families, fans, and people who shouldn't be in restricted zones
- Rose Parade / Colorado Boulevard season. Float viewing, street posts, and private or brand events that sit next to the civic crowd
- Old Pasadena nightlife doors. Restaurants, bars, and late-night floors where tone at the door decides whether a night stays calm
- Playhouse District. Theater nights, openings, and venue events where guests expect hospitality, not a checkpoint
- Corporate and Caltech-area events. Receptions, conferences, and research or Lake Avenue office gatherings that need lobby and guest-list control
- Estate and private parties along the Arroyo Seco and in historic neighborhoods such as Bungalow Heaven, where family tension or an uninvited guest can matter as much as the guest list
Who we've worked with: our website shows brands including Amazon, Hulu and Spotify among our clients, and our event work has included gatherings for Facebook, The RealReal and the World Surf League. (Listed as shown on our live site. No endorsement implied. No claim that we've worked any specific Pasadena venue.)
What Pasadena event coverage includes
- Guest list and credentials: check-in for guests, staff, caterers, vendors, and production, so the person who "came with the band" is actually on the list
- Crowd flow and posts: entrances, exits, parking, and soft perimeters sized to the event. Stadium-adjacent days look different from a 80-person estate dinner
- Door and floor presence: for Old Pasadena and Playhouse nights, a calm voice at the door and a low-profile officer on the floor
- Setup and teardown coverage: the hours when gates are open and trucks are unloading are when things walk away
- Arrivals and departures: a calm route from the car to the door and back, and a watch for anyone waiting or following when guests leave
- Armed or unarmed officers: we recommend the lowest level of force that fits your event
- Close protection: an executive protection officer for one guest when the detail needs car-to-car coverage
How we plan a Pasadena event
- Free quote. Tell us the date, the address or venue type, the guest count, and what worries you most.
- Walk the site. We look at entrances, parking, service doors, street access, and the rooms guests shouldn't wander into.
- Written plan. Posts, staffing, dress code, the guest-list process, and a briefing for every officer, including who is allowed where.
- Event night. Officers arrive briefed, check in with your planner or house manager, and focus on prevention.
- Debrief. A short recap of what happened and what to change next time.
We coordinate ahead with your planner, venue manager, house manager, or corporate host, so deliveries and late arrivals don't turn into a scramble at the gate.
What to have ready when you call
- Date, call times, and the address (Rose Bowl area event, Old Pasadena / Playhouse venue, office, private home, or other)
- Guest count, and whether well-known guests, press, or alcohol service are expected
- Your privacy or phone rules, if any
- How many vendors and staff will be on site, and when they arrive
- Parking, valet, and street access
- Anyone you'd rather not see at the event, and why
Check the license before you hire
Every company providing guards in California needs a BSIS Private Patrol Operator license, and each guard needs a BSIS guard registration. Armed guards also need a BSIS exposed firearm permit. You can verify any company at search.dca.ca.gov. Ours is PPO 120234.
